Craps History: The Origin Of This Table Game. What's Hazard?

dicesCraps originated as an ancient game called Hazard. The game of Hazard was supposedly invented by an Englishman, Sir William of Tyre and his knights, during the crusades. It is claimed to have been a pastime for the crusaders while laying siege to a castle called Hazarth or Asart in 1125 AD.

The French took up playing Hazard and it is claimed that they changed the name to Craps, yet it is still widely believed that the name is American in origin. Some also claim that it was the British that took it across to the Americas. Regardless of how it got there, it is the biggest gambling game in the history of the world in terms of money wagered.

In Craps players can choose to roll the dice yourself or have the dealer roll them. The Romans made this game popular - and it's the classic game of chance.

Today most of the online casinos offer craps game. We recommend you trying craps at the most popular InterCasino. The game is played and programmed according to Atlantic City Gaming rules.

Craps Rules
The objective of Craps is to predict the outcome of a roll of the dice. InterCasino offers $5 minimum bet or up to $500 per field. No maximum total bet. There are many types of bets available in Craps: Pass Line Bets, Don't Pass Bets, Come & Don't Come Bets, Place Bet to Win or to Lose, Hardway & One Roll Bets, Field, Any Craps, Any 7, Eleven or Craps, Big 6 & Big 8. You have the option of throwing the dice yourself or having the computer throw the dice for you.

Some bets are available only for the Come Out roll. A black marker is displayed in the top left-hand corner of the Craps table prior to a Come Out roll. Some bets are available only after a Point has been established. A Point is established if the Come Out roll is either 4, 5, 6, 8, 9 or 10. The number rolled, is called the Point and the next roll(s) is called the Point roll. Point rolls continue until the shooter rolls a 7 or the Point. Once this happens, the sequence starts again with the next roll as a Come Out roll.
